This book is written by Richard F Heller and Rachael F Heller. It is aimed at the carbohydrate addict. As with all diet and health books it has to be put in its context. One size does not fit all. So before you implement all of the guidelines in this book make sure that you are a "carbohydrate addict". In the beginning of the book the Heller's provide a scoring system for "carbohydrate addiction". This scoring system provide you with an objective assessment of how much you are addicted to carbohydrates. After you finish this assessment you supposedly will know if you are a carbohydrate addict or not. The question that comes to mind is "what do you do if you are not a carbohydrate addict". Even if you are not a carbohydrate addict, this book does contain some useful hints for weight loss and healthier eating. If you want to know the answer beforehand, just think of what you like to eat and when. If you love candy, bread and cakes and eat them at every opportunity you get, then you are probably a carbohydrate addict. The book comprises 12 easy to read chapters that take you through basic eating strategies; aimed at helping you to reduce your food intake and cravings and thereby help you to loose weight. The book is well set out with many examples that make it easy for you to follow. It also includes many sample meals so that you can get started quickly.
If you suspect that you are addicted to carbohydrates (constant craving for sweets, get hungry quickly, snacking on candy all the time) this book promises salvation. As with all plans and diets this book does not work for everyone and it is ultimately up to you to implement lifestyle changes.
